Bottom Left Photo: The picture below shows the base resting at the headboard end of the bed. Click on the picture and you'll see the 2 vertical iron rails in the middle of the base which provide a solid central support for the slats.

Bottom Right Photo: Shows a cable tie holding the base in place - we use only 2 ties to secure a base to a bed we use ourselves, and this has worked well without any movement for a couple of years, but it's always worthwhile checking the ties over time and adding more ties as you see fit.
