French Antique Iron Beds, Wood Beds & Slatted Bed BasesWelcome to The French Bed Company We sell French antique beds in the UK at competitive prices.
Our beds and furniture is French and dates from 1890 through to 1970. Most
of our items are 'one-offs' and we stock a variety of styles from classic
ornate French to retro chic. If you need spares for any French antique beds, wooden or brass, check out our current listings of spares or mail us we have lots. Finally we have a small stock of mirrors, bedside cabinets and various other items of small furniture and kitchenalia.
Current Update : Happy New Year 2012 ! A new selection of various size iron beds is now in stock, including singles, small and standard size doubles. These will be added to the website over the next few weeks, or mail for pre-sale photos. Slatted Bed Bases We stock NEW steel framed extendable slatted bed bases which are suitable for most antique double beds, as well as other modern and odd-sized beds. The width can be set between 85cm (2 ft 9) and 158cm (5ft 2), the length is fixed and suitable for the standard length of 190 cm (6 ft 3). We also stock a 3ft fixed single slatted bed base and a 120 cm fixed slatted bed base. These are all currently IN STOCK. Check out the slatted bed base section for further details. Iron Beds Most of our iron beds can be sandblasted and repainted. Once the bed has been sandblasted it is re-sprayed and heat treated to leave a durable surface. We can paint to order. The most popular colours are black and white in either matt or gloss finish, but we can also supply a small selection of other colours. Are you renovating your antique bed ? Do you need spare parts ? Replacement bed bolts, carved crests for headboards and wooden finials are stocked for French wooden beds. Brass spindles and balls, casters and decorative brass pieces are all in stock for mainly French, but also British iron beds. If you can't see what you are looking for in our spares section. Please email sales@thefrenchbedcompany.co.uk Props for Productions We have supplied major theatre, opera and television productions with beds, if you are looking for props please contact us as we may have unlisted stock suitable for you. Our 'Frequently Asked Questions' Do you have 5ft or 6ft beds ? We do get 5ft beds in wood, although most stock is between 4ft and 4 ft 6. The maximum width for our iron beds is 4 ft 6. We never get 5ft or 6ft iron beds. Do you sell mattresses ? No, but we can recommend www.bed-e-buys.net a national mattress supplier who can provide standard and odd size mattresses which will fit our beds. Delivery Our standard service will courier your order to you on weekdays between 8am and 4pm. Timed and weekend deliveries are available, but incur a surcharge. Prices with our standard service are £35 for the extendable and single bed bases, and start at £55 for beds. We are open for collection of items by appointment only.
