Lovely Art Deco Double Bed

This is a lovely varnished oak 1930's bed.

Beautiful carved floral decoration on the headboard, and the footboard also has a walnut insert.

The colour of the wood is quite dark - the pictures in places make it look slightly more golden than it is - in reality the shade is very similar to the look of the bedside cabinet in the bottom left photo below.

The dimensions of this bed will allow it to take a standard double mattress. Our bed base (priced at £139.99 when sold with this bed) bridges the gap from one side piece to the other so you have an area of 4 ft 5.5 to place the mattress. The mattress will sit 0.5 inch over that as a standard double measures 4 ft 6.

CONDITION

The bed is in overall excellent condition - there are a few marks / scratches and you might expect, and a little wear to the varnish at the very bottom of the footboard on the bed. Generally there are no major faults, the bed fits together well.
