Metal frame with wooden insert in the base of the bed. The metal is currently painted in a wood effect brown, but could be sandblasted and repainted and the footboard could be made a feature of - ie....a blackboard could be created for a childrens bedroom, or it could be painted / stencilled etc to match an interior.
